Felipe Lima occupies Men’s 100m breaststroke gold – 2013 Arena Grand Prix
Felipe Lima of Davie Nadadores occupied gold medal of the Men’s 100m breaststroke on day one of the 2013 Arena Grand Prix in Colorado, USA, on Thursday, February 14.
The 27-year-old Lima showed no leniency to his opponents in the 100m discipline as he rushed his way towards the finishing end for gold medal. With his notable pace, Lima enjoyed a comfortable lead over his closest swimmer and occupied gold medal of the
event.
He experienced strong contest from his toughest challenger and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 00.86 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Mike Alexandrov of Trojan Swim Club, who was only 0.04 seconds behind and finished second in the event by clocking a time of 1 minute and 00.90 seconds.
Third position of the race was obtained by Bradley Craig of Tennessee Aquatics-S, who was 2.38 seconds behind and clocked a time of 1 minute and 03.28 seconds.
Craig was trailed by Azad Al-barazi, who was only 0.11 seconds behind and touched the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 03.39 second for fourth position.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Carlos Claverie of Venezuela, who was 0.09 seconds behind and hit the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 03.48 seconds.
Claverie was followed by Gabriel Souza of Una Dana-FG, who suffered a loss of 0.10 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 03.58 seconds for sixth place.
Seventh fastest spot of the event was obtained by Christian Schurr Voigt of Mexico, who was 0.21 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 03.79 seconds.
Last spot of the race was gained by Warren Barnes of Swim ON, who tied hard to overpower his former finisher but failed to do so. Barnes remained one and a half body length slower from his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 1 minute and 05.06 seconds.
Furthermore, Lima received a huge round of applause from the audience and collected her medal after the session.
