Felipe Massa aims to beat Fernando Alonso in 2013 – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is aiming to beat his teammate, Fernando Alonso in the 2013 Formula 1 season.
Massa had a very struggling start in 2012 as he could not attain competitive results in the first few races. Moreover, he was surrounded by a lot of speculations that he might get replaced by any other driver in 2013. However, Ferrari team principal, Domenicali
expressed full support towards their struggling driver and asserted that they are ready to support him in any circumstances.
After facing huge difficulties in the opening few grands prix, the Brazilian driver made a striking comeback after the Mugello test and delivered some remarkable performances with the help of which he managed to secure his race seat in the Scarlet team.
Besides, he also helped Alonso in securing good positions in a couple of races. Although, he has stood behind the Spaniard in the last three years, however, he is positively looking forward to perform well in this season and is targeting to beat the two-time
world champion. In addition, he said that he will not only try to do everything to compete well with all his rivals in this year’s championship.
“I think you are always comparing with strong drivers, you are in the top level in the world,” he said in a Ferrari web chat. “Many people sometimes think maybe he's behind his team-mate by two tenths and sometimes people think it's negative, but you are
in the top of the top in the world. Sometimes we forget that.”
“I think when you are behind you need to work to be in front and that's what I'm doing. I will try everything to be in front of my team-mate, but also everybody is racing with me,” he added.
Additionally, he said that he is very happy to secure his race seat at Ferrari for another season. He also said that he is aiming to score good points right from the start of this season in order to make his position stronger in the championship fight. Let’s
