Felipe Massa annoyed at Lewis Hamilton for collision at 2011 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa has expressed his anger about the incident involving him and Lewis Hamilton which took place at the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix.
“My thoughts? Again, I told you yesterday that he cannot use his mind. Even in qualifying, so you can imagine in the race. What he did could have caused a big accident and he's paying for that - that's the problem he doesn't understand even paying for a
problem,” Massa told BBC Sport.
The two drivers collided after a hard fought battle during the second quarter of the race after which, Hamilton had to get his front wing changed while Felipe Massa’s tyre punctured as a result of which both of the drivers had to make an extra pit stop.
The McLaren driver was given a drive through penalty for this incident despite the fact that it was just a normal racing incident but still, the 2008 Formula 1 champion managed to finish ahead of Massa.
The Brazilian driver finished in a disappointing 9th place while Lewis Hamilton managed to finish in 5th place. It was a very disappointing result for Ferrari but it did prove that Massa is not the same
driver as he used to be a couple of years ago before his near-fatal injury.
On top of that, the Ferrari driver claims that this is not the first time Lewis has done something like this to him.
“Again something happened with a guy who did [this] so many times with me this year. It's important that the FIA is looking and penalise him all the time he goes in the car because he cannot think about [it],” he added.
Fernando Alonso did a spectacular job in his Ferrari despite the fact that he lost a position to Mark Webber. His run throughout the race was top notch and it was great to see him competing against a Red Bull Racing team driver single-handedly.
