Felipe Massa anticipates better results at the Singaporean Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Felipe Massa of Ferrari anticipates impressive results at the Singaporean Grand Prix despite of his ordinary past record at the circuit.
The Ferrari driver does not believe that he would find any difficulty in driving under the floodlights at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Currently, uncertain with his future at Ferrari, Massa believes that he will be able to perform impressively on the Singaporean circuit despite of his ordinary record there. He wants to repeat his performance at the Italian Grand Prix and the Belgian Grand
Prix where he managed to finish at the 4th and 5th position, respectively.
He said, “I like the Singapore track and I feel the circuit suits me, even if I’ve never had much luck there, so I’m definitely looking for another good result and I hope I can do even better than in the last two races.”
The Ferrari driver compared Singapore GP with Monaco Grand Prix and Hungary Grand Prix because of the settings of the car and the downforce at the circuit. He added that they were better at Monaco, where he finished at the 6thposition, and anticipates that
the race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit will be more identical to the Monaco GP.
Furthermore, he said that the Marina Bay circuit is complicated when it comes to tyres and expects that the upcoming race will not be a piece of cake, in such regard. He looks forward towards more pit stops as compared to the last few races because the track
is hard on tyres.
In addition, the Ferrari driver said that he does find any difficulty in racing under floodlights because they are so bright that visibility is almost same as day light. He added that he does not change time zone therefore he does not foresee any physical
problem. Besides, he said that it does seem awkward but they can stick to the time zone of Europe throughout the weekend.
Massa has not been given any indication of his contract with Ferrari for the next 2013 season because the team wants both competitive drivers. He has only been able to attain 47 points until now as compared to 179 of his teammate Fernando Alonso.
Let’s see how the Brazilian driver performs under the flood lights of Singapore.
