Felipe Massa avoids making predictions about 2012 British Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that it is very hard to make any kind of predictions about 2012 British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
Massa said that the track of the approaching race is very challenging. Therefore, they need to work at their best in order to attain good results.
“It's difficult to have a clear picture of how competitive we should be,” he said. “Especially this year, we have seen results in the races that we could never have expected. Silverstone is a very different track to the last few, so we need to be ready for
everything and arrive as well prepared as possible.”
Although, the Brazilian driver faced immense difficulties during the start of season as he could only score 2 points in the first five races. Nevertheless, he made a reasonable comeback in the Monaco GP held at Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo in which he
came 6th after qualifying for the 7th place in the grid.
Additionally, although he has only scored one point in the last two grands prix, however, he is aiming to perform well in the forthcoming race as he is feeling confident with the development which his team has made in the season so far.
“Who knows, maybe Silverstone can be even better than expected for us. However, we believe our car is not too bad in the high speed corners and so I feel we should discover a good F2012 when we start practice there on Friday,” he said.
Currently, he is at 16th place in the drivers’ championship with 11 points. Besides, he is 5 points behind Bruno Senna of Williams and 7 points ahead of Jean-Eric Vergne of Toro Rosso.
Meanwhile, his teammate, Fernando Alonso has been deemed as the most favourite driver of this season as he is standing at the top of the drivers’ rankings with 111 points. Furthermore, he is the only driver who has claimed two race victories in the season
so far.
Above and beyond, it will be very interesting to see how both the drivers of the Scarlet team perform in the upcoming races.
