Felipe Massa believes he is capable to claim victory in 2012 European GP – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa believes that he is capable of claiming victory in 2012 European Grand Prix which is to be held at Valencia Street Circuit in Spain on June 24.
Massa had a struggling start this year and could only score 2 points in the first five grands prix. However, he performed quite convincingly in the Monaco GP at Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo and secured 6th place finish after setting off from
7th grid position.
Moreover, although he could only secure 10th place finish in the last race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal, nevertheless, he is positively looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming race.
Furthermore, it will be important to mention that there have been seven different winners in the first seven races due to which it is very hard to predict about the forthcoming season. Meanwhile, it can be assessed that any driver can be a winner in the
races ahead. Therefore, the Brazilian driver is aiming to win in the approaching race.
“I think this year if you look at how the racing is and how many things change with the strategies and everything, you have many possibilities for drivers taking victories,” Massa said. “For sure, definitely I would put myself inside and I would be very
happy to be the next winner.”
At present, he is standing at 14th place in the drivers’ championship with 11 points. Besides, he is ahead of Nico Hulkenberg of Force India and behind Bruno Senna of Williams with 4 points.
In addition, he said that they have been trying their best to make the necessary developments and the considerable preparations so as to improve the pace of their car for the upcoming races in order to fight for the championship title. He also said that
they have planned to come up with some important updates in the next race to achieve competitive results.
“We've changed many things on car,” he added. “We started with some developments to make car better and also better direction of driving for me as well. I feel that the car is much more comfortable to drive and I think it was definitely positive for me as
well.”
