Felipe Massa claims he has put accident with Lewis Hamilton aside – Formula 1 news
Ferrari’s Felipe Massa has recently claimed that he has finally put the accident with Lewis Hamilton aside which took place at this past weekend’s 2011 Singapore Grand Prix.
“I am very disappointed with the way things went yesterday: Singapore is definitely not a lucky place for me, given something always happens to me here. As for Hamilton and his behaviour both off and on the track, I have already told him all I had to say:
I have not changed my opinion by one iota since yesterday, but I consider the matter to be closed,” Massa told Ferrari’s official website.
The two drivers collided with each other after a competitive battle during the second quarter of the race at the Marina Bay. It was quite disappointing for Massa as he was defending his position carefully but still he was unable to avoid Hamilton’s McLaren.
After this collision, both of the drivers fell behind 10th place and unfortunately for Felipe, he was not able to recover either. As a result, he finished in 9th place just to secure two points only which were not beneficial
or sufficient enough for Ferrari at all.
Lewis Hamilton on the other hand finished in 5th place despite the fact that he was also going through the same situation as Massa was.
“Better to think about the next race and about trying to finish this difficult season in a good way, as well as preparing as well as possible for the next one,” he added.
Fernando Alonso however finished in a strong 4th place and since he is also using the same piece of machinery as Felipe Massa, it clearly means that Massa is just not pushing himself to the limit. Keeping that in mind, he is still
going to stay with the team until the end of 2012.
Let’s see how he fares in the upcoming Japanese Grand Prix scheduled to take place on October 9, 2011 at the Suzuka circuit.
