Felipe Massa defeated by his teammate Fernando Alonso once again
Ferrari had a great 2010 season but it would have been a lot better if Felipe Massa supported his teammate Fernando Alonso and scored more points for the team. Felipe was unable to defeat the Spaniard and recently, he was unable to win once again at an ice
karting/FIAT 500 race. Alonso led Massa to take the victory but since the 2010 season, this is not something that “dented” Felipe’s image in anyway.
The race took place on a frozen lake at the ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio and they were joined by Nicky Hayden, Valentino Rossi and Ferrari’s test drivers Jules Bianchi, Giancarlo Fisichella and Marc Gene. Alonso, Hayden and Rossi took the top three
places respectively and a safety car had to be deployed near the end of the race when there were just 5 laps remaining. Fisichella on the other hand won a winning ski time trial in the day in his home country.
Nevertheless, the 2010 Formula 1 season was a disaster for Felipe Massa as well and he was highly criticized for his performance. He is hoping for a much better performance in 2011 but it seems that his chance of performing up with the top running drivers
has been highly damaged.
There were also some rumours that Robert Kubica might replace the Brazilian in Ferrari but these rumours were turned down by Stefano Domenicali as the team believes that Felipe still has what it takes to win races and maybe win a title as well.
The team is aiming for nothing less than the championships and it would be interesting to see how they perform in 2011 even though they were unable to give a good finish to the 2010 Formula 1 season as Fernando Alonso lost his championship lead at the very
last race to Sebastian Vettel in Abu Dhabi.
Ferrari recently revealed that they will launch their car earlier than the rest of the teams as they have planned that they would reveal it at their annual media event “Wrooom”. This event holds a number of events and other fun activities and it is hosted
by Ferrari.
Fernando Alonso was in Maranello recently for a final seat fitting in his 2011 Formula 1 car which is referred to as the “288 chassis” as a codename.
The two Ferrari drivers are pretty excited about their new car and they are quite confident about the 2011 Formula 1 season as well.
