Felipe Massa eager to know about his future in Ferrari – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is very eager to know whether he is going to race with his team in 2013 or not but he asserted that the ongoing speculations will not affect his performance in the upcoming races.
Massa had a struggling start of the current season as he could only score 2 points in the first five grands prix. Later on, he improved his performance in the last five races in which he has scored 36 points. However, there have been a lot of rumours that
he will lose his race seat in the Scarlet team which is looking for his replacement for the coming year when his contract will be ended.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian driver has said that he has not heard anything from his team regarding his future while he said that he can secure his seat if he performs well in the remaining races.
Moreover, he said that he needs to keep on working hard to enhance his pace in the forthcoming races so as to prove his potential to his team. In addition, he said that he keenly wants to know about his future in the team so that he may be able to give his
full attention to racing.
“There is no news on my future at the moment, but there's no doubt that good results will help,” Massa said. “I just need to keep pushing hard and getting good results, in the hope of hearing some good news soon. It's always better to know what the situation
is, as of course I want to know what I'm doing next year. But I can tell you that it's never happened that I'm in the car in the middle of the race and I start thinking about what I'll do next year!”
Besides, he insisted that he is well aware of the fact that he can only secure his position in his team if he attains competitive results in the season ahead. Therefore, he said that he is confidently looking forward to perform at his best in the Singapore
Grand Prix which is to be held at Marina Bay Street Circuit this weekend.
