Felipe Massa eager to prove his potential in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is eagerly looking forward to prove his potential in the 2012 Formula 1 season ahead and is aiming to score some reasonable points in the remaining races.
Massa has not been able to explore his true potential in the first half of the current season and has only been able to score 25 points until now. Moreover, his contract is going to expire at the end of the year and there have been many speculations that
the Brazilian driver may be replaced with Sergio Perez of Sauber in the coming season.
Furthermore, he said that he cannot project about his performance in the forthcoming races, however, he said that he is focussing to deliver his best in the season ahead. In addition, he said that it is very important to make his mark stronger in the championship
battle towards the end of the current season.
“I have no news to give you regarding my future, but it is the remaining races of this year that are important," said Massa. "I will be concentrating solely on having strong races, getting good results, because it is results that will be the most important
thing when it comes to talking about my future when my contract expires. Definitely it's important that something is decided before the very end of the season.”
Besides, he said that he is hoping to attain good points in the Belgian GP which is going to be held at legendary circuit, Spa-Francorchamps. He also said that his car will suit the changing conditions of the track of the approaching race and he will be
able to achieve competitive result.
Over and above, he expressed that he has always liked racing at Spa which is one of his personal favourite tracks. He added that he has gained a lot of confidence from his team which has supported him really well and is expecting a good weekend in Belgium.
“Personally, it's a circuit I love, one I enjoy most to drive and I have usually done well here. So let's hope we can have a good weekend,” he said.
