Felipe Massa feels happy with the balance of F138 – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is feeling very happy with the balance of their 2013 car, F138, after the first day of the Jerez test.
Massa faced immense difficulties during the first few grands prix of 2012 and couldn’t score good points for his team. Furthermore, he was criticised a lot over his poor form and remained surrounded by many rumours that the Italian team might replace him
with another driver in 2013. But, he received full support from his team principal, Stefano Domenicali who asserted that they are ready to provide everything to their struggling driver which can enhance his pace.
The Brazilian driver made a terrific comeback right after the Mugello test during the last year and delivered some amazing performances for his team. In addition, he drove remarkably well alongside his teammate, Fernando Alonso during the last few races
and even helped the Spaniard in attaining better positions in a couple of grands prix.
On the first day at Jerez, Massa seemed really comfortable behind the wheel of his car and expressed his full confidence in F138.
“If you compare to last year it's on a completely different planet,” Massa said. “Last year I remember we were struggling a lot to drive the car; it was difficult to keep the car on the track. So this year the base on the car is completely different to last
year. The car is much more balanced, I felt a good direction at the rear of the car as well in terms of traction. This is a track that is very tough on the rear so degradation is very high.”
Even though, he faced a lot of problems during the preceding season. However, he has expressed that he is not feeling disappointed and is aiming to strike back in this season. Additionally, he said that he is looking forward to attain competitive results
for his team right from the start of the season.
It will be very exciting to see how he shows up along with the two-time world champion after this year’s pre-season testing and whether they will be able to beat their major opponents or not.
