Felipe Massa feels positive for 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is feeling positive for the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix regardless of not been able to complete a long run during the Friday practice.
Massa came fourth in the timesheets of FP2 at Hungaroring in Budapest and improved his timing as compared to the morning session in which he could only set the 7th quickest time. Although, he remained unable to cover a long run on full fuel because
of the rainy conditions, however, he expressed that he is not feeling upset about it as the circumstances were the same for all the contenders.
In addition, he said that he felt very much comfortable with the tyre handling and the overall setup of the car while he said that he is aiming to score some crucial points in the race ahead.
"All in all, it was a good day, with the only inconvenient factor being the rain, which arrived halfway through afternoon, which prevented us doing planned long run to understand tyre behaviour," Massa said. "However, it was not just our problem, as everyone
found themselves in the same situation. All same, we did manage to get reasonably clear idea on tyre performance, but it's really too early to judge where we are compared to others."
Besides, the Brazilian driver said that he is expecting a tough fight from some specific contenders in the forthcoming race. However, he asserted that he cannot make any kind of projection about the upcoming race as the current season has brought so many
surprises until now.
Furthermore, he said that it will very important for them to keep on making the sound improvements in their car’s setup so as to secure some competitive results in the season ahead.
“We realise we need to do everything as well as possible to get very most out of what we have to work with,” he added.
Over and above, he said that he is targeting to perform well in the qualifying to secure an upper grid slot for the race on Sunday.
It will be exceedingly exciting to see how the Italian team perform in the approaching season.
