Felipe Massa feels upset after 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is feeling a little upset over his poor start in the 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix.
Massa showed quite convincing pace during the qualifying and secured 7th grid slot for the Hungarian GP. Later on, he struggled to make any progress in the race after his uncompetitive start and came 9th on the charts.
The Brazilian driver said that during the start of the preceding race his clutch was overheated because of which he could not take a competitive start. Moreover, he said that he felt difficult to overtake the contenders in the front as compared to the last
couple of grands prix. He also said that they faced issues throughout the weekend at Hungaroring in Budapest with finding their true pace.
"My race was ruined at the start, when I spun the wheels, possibly because the clutch had overheated: that cost me two places which I then never managed to make up," said the Brazilian driver. "Overtaking is really difficult at this track and, even if at
some points in the second stint I was stronger than Webber and Senna, I never managed to get the slightest chance to pass them. At Silverstone and Hockenheim, our pace was a match for the best, but that was not the case here and this definitely made the whole
weekend difficult."
Besides, he said that although he faced some problems in the previous race, nonetheless, he asserted that he is feeling quite contended with his recent performances as compared to his poor start of the current season.
Additionally, he said that he is aiming to improve his performance in the forthcoming races and is focussing to score some reasonable points in the races after the summer break.
Presently, he is standing at 14th position in the drivers’ rankings with 25 points. In addition, he is ahead of Bruno Senna of Williams and is behind Paul di Resta of Force India.
On the other hand, his teammate, Fernando Alonso came fifth in the last race and is currently leading the drivers’ championship with 164 points.
Let’s see how the Scarlet team comes up in the season ahead.
