Felipe Massa finally ready to do whatever Ferrari wants
The Ferrari driver, Felipe Massa is adamant to do his best at the upcoming Korean Grand Prix, to make things easier for his teammate, Fernando Alonso. As all the Formula One teams prepare to enter the seventeenth episode of the 2010 season, the driver vows
to end the race among the championship contenders in order to increase the hopes of his team for the Drivers’ Championship.
After a lulled mid season, although the team has lost its chances of winning the Constructors’ Championship yet they hope to see Alonso bagging the Drivers’ championship. Since the chances of Massa have completely died for the Drivers’ Championship, he was
asked by his team two races back, to help his teammate to ensure his success. However, the poor performance of the driver in past two races claiming just four points made his team doubtful over his intentions. The driver has been accused by many for intentionally
performing poor, as a revenge for the team ordering of Ferrari.
Dismissing all such accusations, the Brazilian driver proclaimed that he is heading for the next race determined to turn around the tables in favour of his teammate.
While talking to the reporters about his aspirations for the upcoming round, Massa told that he is looking forward for a strong qualifying on Saturday which could lead to a good result on the final race day. He told, “I want to be in the middle of the battle
for the drivers' championship, fighting with those five drivers who are chasing the title, which is the best thing I can do to help Ferrari's and Fernando's aspirations as we head for the end of the championships."
He further added, “Korea will be the last of a trio of Far Eastern races and I would like to arrive back in Sao Paolo for my home race, with a good result in my pocket. I know that everyone in the team, at the track and the factory is completely pumped up
for the challenge of these last three races and I am equally keen to give them my best shot."
Massa has been busy all through the week working in the Ferrari simulator, and now he reckons that the track is brilliant and it would suit the Ferrari immensely making their car even more competitive. From the initial knowledge of the track he believes
it to be somewhere in between the Shanghai and Bahrain tracks in its characteristic and lay out.
The newly-built circuit has a very long straight while the rest of the parts offer a mixture of high and low speed corners. Ferrari’s F-10 has demonstrated a very good pace at all types of tracks in the past few races which is why the team believes to run
very efficiently next week as well. Since the re-emergence of Ferrari in the competition after the German Grand Prix, the car has never failed to show a great pace. Except for a few places, where Red Bull was very fast, Ferrari has been very competitive at
all kinds of circuits. One can very safely say that the Italian team has the second fastest car of the season, Red Bull being at the top.
The 29-year-old wrote on his official website that the entire team is on their toes working day and night to achieve their target and he is also fully resolute to play his part.
Since Korea is to hold the first ever race on its soil, the track is still alien for all the teams equally. It is said that the next Grand Prix is an open lottery and of course would be one of the most unpredictable races of the season.
