Felipe Massa hopes to attain competitive result in 2012 Singapore Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is hoping to attain competitive result in 2012 Singapore Grand Prix and is feeling extremely confident after securing fourth place finish in the last race held at Autodromo di Monza.
Massa faced immense difficulties during the start of the season as he could only score two points in the opening five grands prix. Nevertheless, he has fought back quite convincingly and has scored some good points in the last few races.
It will be important to mention that the Brazilian driver’s contract with the Scarlet team is going to end at the conclusion of this season and he has been surrounded by many speculations that he will be replaced by another driver in the coming year.
Although, he said that he earnestly needs to know whether he will stay in his team in the future or not, however, he insisted that he is not paying any attention to the prevailing rumours and is positively looking forward to secure promising results in the
remaining races in order to prove his potential.
Besides, he said that he really likes racing at Marina Bay Street Circuit which is a very unique track. Therefore, he expressed that despite struggling during the last two seasons in the Singapore GP, he is eying to achieve good points this weekend.
In addition, he said that he wants to continue scoring consistent points in the approaching races so as to secure a reasonable position in this year’s championship fight.
“I like the Singapore track and I feel the circuit suits me, even if I've never had much luck there. So I'm definitely looking for another good result and I hope I can do even better than in the last two races,” said Massa. “Touch wood we can continue the
same way, after what were definitely good races in Spa and Monza. I picked up a good number of points, which was especially important if you look at the state of play in the championship right now and then compare it to how things were at the beginning of
the year.”
