Felipe Massa insists he is not worried about 2013 – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is not worried about his race seat in the team in 2013 and is focussing to perform well in the remainder of the 2012 Formula 1 season.
Massa has been surrounded by a lot of rumours that he may lose his race seat in the Scarlet team and will be replaced by another driver in the next year as he has struggled in most of the race in this season. However, he has asserted that he is not concerned
about the coming year and is only looking forward to attain promising results in the forthcoming races.
The Brazilian has performed quite convincingly in the last few races. Even though, he said that it is very important for him to know about his future in the team but presently he is keeping all his focus on scoring points in the remaining season as he believes
that he can only secure his race seat if he shows up stronger in the upcoming races.
“Of course my future is important, but right now it's the results that are the most important thing, which means I have to concentrate on each race as it comes,” he told Ferrari's website. “I know what I can do, what I can give to team and what are my talents.
The team also knows this, because I've been here with them for rather longer than a day or even a year! The best plan is to race without worrying about future.”
Furthermore, he said that he is feeling positive that they can achieve good results in the Japanese Grand Prix which is to be held at Suzuka this weekend. He also said that although the track of the next race is one of the most challenging tracks in the
calendar because of its fast corners, nonetheless, he said that they have full faith in their update package.
“Even if it will be tough, this weekend, I would love to be fighting for pole and victory again,” he added.
It will be exciting to see how Massa and his teammate, Fernando Alonso will perform in the approaching races.
