Felipe Massa or Timo Glock

Who was your driver of the day?

I can't decide so I say a joint choice.

Brilliant start from Felipe. It would have been a deserved win had his engine not blown up.

Great drive from Timo keeping his Toyota up there throughout the race the way he did.

  1. Marvelous overtaking move on Hamilton from Massa to show that he wasn't taken in by Hamilton's gamesmanship. Although Glock made the most of his car I think Massa's performance was fantastic (and I'm not even a Ferrari fan) so he gets my vote.

  2. Massa, for his magnificent start!

  3. Massa. Heart breaking to blow up so close to the finish after such a brilliant race. Out Hamiltoned Hamilton at the start.

  4. massa for his aggressive start

  5. I believe both drivers were incredible today!

Timo: After that horrible accident in Hockenheim, he comes over here, qualifies 5th and gets his first podium and I believe it's the 2nd one overall for the team this season.

Felipe: Fantastic start by him and what a pass at Hamilton! I felt so bad when his engine failed with just 3 laps to go! That was his race to win and he could've moved back on top on the WDC, but unfortunately, that didn't happen! :(

  6. Personally i'd go with glock because it turned out the ferarri's had the pace know one thought they did, as demonstrated when raikonen (spelling) decided to pull his finger out, and set fastest laps! where as glock drove the a*se of his to get a much deserved podium

  7. im a ferrari, but im gonna go w/ glock. and when i tell you why your gonna give me ten pts! massa today couldve still won. he was running full throttle even thou he has a considerable enough gap to let off. but he didnt. he strained the motor till it blew. thats one thing about schumacher i didnt like either, was going on full throttle knowing that the result was pretty much his. i think had massa paced himself at the end, the motor failure couldve been avoided. i cant belive glock made the podium but im happy for him regardless. gotta feel bad for massa, hes luck isnt the greatest. i bet you hamilton watch him overtake and hes like oh man, guess it wont be a walk in the park after all!

  8. Glock- who thought he would ever get a podium on merit, Felipe drove like a legend too, as did Alonso

  9. Glock for me.

Kept one Ferrari in sight, and the other behind.

  10. Yes, a shared top drive between the 2, 3 laps from the end, will this effect Felipe in the next race, Glock where have you been all year?

  11. yeah good drive from felipe,

buti think timo deserves the title of best driver of the day. he was in a non competitive car and still delivered a good place on the grid.

  12. Val, I got to see the race by the skin of my teeth!

Magnificent start from Felipe - ballsy and full of confidence- but I was gob smacked to see him blow up. His dejection as he got to the paddock was quite palpable. Poor sod.

Full marks to Timo showing Jarno how its done (again) but I'm really happy for Heikki. . with all the attention being on Lewis and 'number two status' and everything else, it will be a blessed relief for him to have stood on the top step of that podium, he has a lovely smile to boot! Im sure Lewis was pleased with the result too. . . .

  13. For this f1 nut it would be Felipe Massa - taken a leaf out of the teutonic Schumacher's book - his start was a racing masterpiece.

  14. I would go with Massa. If he could just be consistently this good he would be considered a top class driver. He's so up and down though that he's very hard to judge over the course of a season.

  15. Timo's performance was excellent throughout the weekend, his pace through Q2 in particular was there for all to see.

So his race pace did not exactly come as a surprise, he had found the car's sweet spot.

He never fell too far back from Kovalainnen even losing some 4 seconds at his pitstop.

I was more surprised by Massa's feisty driving at the start.

He kept a cool head after that and slowly built his lead without making mistakes.

I don't see why "driver of the day" has to always got to just one driver, isn't it possible that there were two excellent performances that make such a choice both difficult and unfair?

    I'd give it to both.

More like a "drivers of the day" title.

We don't mind having more that one excellent performance every time now do we?

  16. Massa... it's just too bad he blew his engine just a few laps away. Otherwise it would've been a great win. I was really surprised by Glock. On podium... the thought of it makes me dizzy. And Heikki winning...

  17. I'm not a fan of Massa but he did do an amazing job - especially at the start - but I would have to pick Glock as he did so well in qualifying and the race in an inferior car

  18. I'm going with Massa, I feel so sorry for the guy!

Maybe he pushed his car to the max.

  19. I have to go with Timo because he finished and he did a great job of soaking up the pressure right from the start, driving his toyota against much faster cars and much more experienced drivers.

  20. timo glock because he showed his talent in a less competative car

  21. Massa's start=WORLD CLASS. F1 was made for them move, well done Massa, unlucky at the end he deserved that win for the start if not anything else.

Glock- brilliant ounce back from that rear suspension failure in Silverstone, how many of you could bounce back after something like that? Well driven all weekend, deserved 2nd.

I know this is driver of the day, but i think i will wait for after Valencia to ecide my driver of the day today as if Glock can keep up their with the likes of Mclaren, ferrari and sometimes BMW i will say he is the driver of teh day. If not i will give it to Massa. NOW THEM TWO NEED TO GIVE US A GOOD RACE IN VALENCIA TO PROVE TO ME THEY R WORTHY!

good luck to em both, i can't decide on just todays race.
