Felipe Massa plans to take his family to 2012 Chinese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa plans to take his family along with him to Chinese Grand Prix which is going to be held at Shanghai International Circuit on April 15, 2012.
Massa had a struggling set off this year as he could only manage to finish at 15th position without scoring any point in the second race held at Sepang International Circuit.
Moreover, in the season opener, which was held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia, he was retired during the race.
It will be important to note that there have been many speculations regarding Massa’s replacement with Sergio Perez of Sauber-Ferrari who showed an amazing performance in the Malaysian GP and secured second podium finish after following the victorious Spaniard,
Fernando Alonso.
Nevertheless, Stefano Domenicali, the team principal of Ferrari said that they are ready to provide Massa with everything which will improve his performance.
Furthermore, Massa changed his plan of going home to see his family in Brazil after the second race and headed towards Scarlet team’s factory in Maranello to work with the engineers in order to identify his mistakes in the first two races of the season and
to make the necessary improvements for the season ahead.
Nonetheless, the Brazilian driver is feeling pleased to take his family with him at Shanghai after quite disappointing start of the season.
“It’s always important to spend time working alongside the team in preparation for a Grand Prix,” said Felipe. “Now, I’m heading back home to Monaco: tomorrow I will relax and then it will be time to pack for Shanghai. Raffaela and Felipinho will come to
China with me: having my family alongside me during a long journey like this one is always very nice, especially when we are all together with my second family, Ferrari!”
Besides, most of the team staff will be spending Easter and Easter Monday in travelling.
After struggling pre-season this year, Ferrari took reasonably good start with Alonso who secured fifth and first finish in the opening two races of the season.
Additionally, at present, they are standing at third position in the constructors’ championship and hoping to perform well in the upcoming races.
