Felipe Massa ready to help Fernando Alonso in title fight – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is ready to provide help to his teammate, Fernando Alonso to win the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship.
Massa has only been able to score 25 points in the current season so far and has not been able to explore his true pace. On the other hand, Alonso is currently leading the drivers’ championship with 164 points and has a strong lead over his main rivals,
Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing.
Moreover, the Brazilian driver’s contract with the Scarlet team is going to expire at the end of this season and it is not sure whether he will be able to stay in the team for the next season or not. However, he has said that he is not feeling disappointed
over his future in the Italian team and asserted that he is aiming to support the Spaniard in this year’s championship fight.
“The important thing for me is to fight for the podium, even if my team-mate is ahead of me in the classification,” Massa said. “For me, the priority is always to try and finish in the top three, but if in a race, Fernando is ahead of me, given his position,
I will try and help him all the same.”
In addition, it will be important to note that it has been reported that he is having some conversations with his team for the next year’s contract and is eagerly looking forward to perform well in the remaining nine races of the season after the summer
smash so as to be able to secure a race seat for the next year.
“It's being discussed, but there's no hurry to decide, nor to say anything. I am concentrating completely on the upcoming races. Thanks to a great job from the team, performance has clearly improved and I feel very motivated to do well,” he added.
Over and above, it will be very exciting to see that whether he will be able to continue racing with the world’s most successful team in next year and how he shows up in the upcoming races.
