Felipe Massa says he is confident of improved results in the remainder of the season – Formula 1
Felipe Massa says that he is feeling added pressure in the current season at the Ferrari camp but has brushed it aside by adding that is nothing new and he is still very confident of putting in the effort to improve the second half of the season.
Massa has been in a lot of trouble since the start of the current season as the Brazilian has been trying to perform in order to save his race seat with the team.
Massa has not been able to perform the way he would have liked to which has lead the team to look of replacement for him for the 2013 season.
Ferrari was in talks with Red Bull driver Mark Webber to replace Massa, but the Aussie decided to stay on with Red Bull and renewed his contract. Ferrari are now still in the hunt for a driver to replace the Brazilian, while also hinting that Massa may have
an outside chance to save his race seat if he can improve his performances in the second half of the season.
Massa also believes that he can save his race seat in the second half of the season, but it looks unlikely for him to improve the way he wants to. The Brazilian has only scored 25 points in the season so far while his team-mate Alonso has 164 points and
is leading the standings.
“Many people seem to think this is the first time it has happened to me, but it is not,” he told TotalRace.com.br. “This has happened many times [in my career], even before I was racing in Formula One when if I did not win the race I had no money for the
next.”
Massa said that pressure is not new to him, and he has always dealt with such situations in his career. He will focus on getting better results in the remainder of the season.
“Every year there is something we have to deal with and get over and this year I'm preparing and concentrating as much as possible to have a better second half of the championship,” he added.
