Felipe Massa says he is feeling just fine after the Monaco crash – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that he is feeling just fine after the Monaco crash and asserted that his confidence has not dwindled.
Massa had two massive accidents at Circuit de Monaco during the preceding race. The first accident was considered as a driver error and took place in the third practice session in which he hit the left side of his car with barriers hard at Ste Devote. He
repeated almost the same crash on the race day because of which he had to go to the hospital for medical checkups. However, the second accident was due to a problem in the left front wing of his car which was later clarified by the technical director of Ferrari,
Pat Fry.
Despite the back-to-back collisions, the Brazilian driver has expressed that his confidence is not dented and he is confidently looking forward to perform well in the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
“No, for sure not,” said the 32-year-old. “On the television the accidents looked very similar, but they were completely different.”
“The first one I just locked the wheels and went straight, and for the second I had a problem with the suspension,” he explained.
Besides, he said that overall he is feeling fine. But, he said that he still has a little bit pain in his neck because of accidents.
“Overall I'm fine. I just felt a bit of pain in my neck after because the crashes took place in the same place and in the same direction,” he said.
“But it was just muscles. I'm fine, everything is fine,” he added.
At present, he is standing at 7th place in the drivers’ championship with 45 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India and behind his major competitor, Nico Rosberg of Mercedes. He has taken a very good start to this season as compared
to the previous one in which failed to score competitive points during the first few races. His best performances include his third podium finish in the Spanish GP and fourth place finish in the season opener. Let’s see how he performs in the Canadian GP this
weekend.
