Felipe Massa targets to attain good results in 2012 British Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has said that his target is to attain good results in 2012 British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
Massa said that he cannot make any kind of projections about the forthcoming race as there have been seven different winners in the first seven grands prix which has made the current season quite unpredictable.
Nevertheless, he said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the race ahead so as to score some reasonable points in order to make his position stronger in this year’s championship fight.
Moreover, he expected that the track conditions of the approaching race will prove out to be favourable for them while he said that they have planned to come up with some important updates which will hopefully provide a competitive edge over other contenders.
“It's difficult to have a clear picture of how competitive we should be,” said Massa. “Especially this year, we have seen results in the races that we could never have expected. Silverstone is a very different track to the last few, so we need to be ready
for everything and arrive as well prepared as possible. Who knows, maybe Silverstone can be even better than expected for us. But if you look at Valencia where we had 13 cars in three tenths in Q2, it shows you really cannot make predictions this season.”
The Brazilian driver could only score 2 points in the first five races. However, he made an inspiring comeback in the Monaco GP in which he secured 6th place finish after setting off from 7th grid position.
Although, he has not been able to score even a single point in the last two races, nonetheless, he is not feeling disappointed and is focussing to deliver his best in the upcoming races.
On the other hand, his teammate, Fernando Alonso is presently leading the drivers’ championship with 111 points and he is 20 points ahead of Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing.
Besides, he is the only driver who has claimed two race victories in the season so far. Above and beyond, it will be very interesting to see how the Scarlet team performs in the season ahead.
