Felipe Massa - the appalled racer plans for a strong comeback
The world of Formula 1 is surrounded by the air of controversies and issues these days. In the world of racing and other sports, issues like these are usual. However, the controversies in the Ferrari team are getting exothermic day by day.
The incident and issues about the decision of letting Alonso win in the race instead of Felipe Massa is creating tension in the Ferrari squad these days. Felipe Massa the twenty-eight-year old Brazilian champ racer is showing all quite open about expressing his frustration and anger pretty. In a recent interview while talking about his importance and position in the Ferrari squad, Massa said that he is not at all a second driver for his team, and he is very well aware of his importance. He said the day he will be considered as the number two driver for his team will be the last day of his race in Formula 1. It is to be remembered that Felipe Massa led the race at German Grand Prix, when he was instructed by his team’s race engineer Rob Smedley to let Fernando Alonso get the lead, and win the race in the 49th lap. The step taken by the Italian Ferrari team was later announced as an illegal act and they were fined $ 100,000. The matter was brought into the notice of World Motor Sport Council so that incidents like this will not happen again.
This incident has dragged the two champ Formula 1 racers; the Brazilian, Filipe Massa and the Spaniard Fernando Alonso in to issues and controversies. Massa is planning for a strong comeback these days. Currently he is trying to keep is head cool and calm, and working hard to prove himself as the number one racer for his team. Massa told the media in a recent interview that he is enjoying his time out, and not feeling any sort of burden at all. He said that his relations are very normal and regular with his team. He is confident of a strong comeback, as he wants to prove that he has all the capability of being at the top. Later he added that the moment he will feel like he is considered as being the second option for his team, he will quit racing forever. Answering the question about letting his team mate Alonso win, Massa said that he will never let that happen again, since he is a professional driver and will try to win the race himself. The incident has affected Massa’s ranking, who is currently at the eight spot. While his team mate has been successful in improving his ranking to 5th spot, just 34 points behind from the leader Hamilton, Massa is no doubt going through some tense situation these days. As a racer his importance for the team is the major factor, which can give him the required confidence to win the race. Massa added that he is very proud that he is a part of Ferrari team, and he admitted the fact that winning a race is always a team work but he said that he is a professional racer as well. Winning would remain his top priority.
On the other hand Ferrari racer, Fernando Alonso tried to settle the brawl calmly, and said that there is nothing going on between him and Massa. He said that the controversy was giving the rise to the speculation about favouritism within the team, which is baseless. He said winning the race matters a lot to them, and letting their team win is their ultimate target. Later Alonso added that racing for Ferrari is their only job, and their relation is just perfect because their priority is to compete in a professional way, and winning the race is what they are hoping for.
