Felix Magath: Diego can no longer stay at the club – Budesliga news
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 manager Felix Magath has once again asked his attacking midfielder Diego to leave the club for his own good. He clearly stated that the Brazilian has no way back in the squad and could be wasting his time by staying at the Volkswagen Arena.
Magath also mentioned that the club would prefer losing some Euros than retaining the controversial midfielder.
The manager and Diego have had several publisced wars of words and strict action has been taken by the tactician. Magath decided to have a one-to-one meeting with the player in order to solve the matters out but nothing came out positive. Both parties agreed
upon the departure and Diego made himself available for transfer at the conclusion of the last campaign. The player was linked with several European sides but has failed to make a move elsewhere so far.
Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid seems the likely option for the Brazilian, who has already rejected an offer from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 but the midfielder has expressed interest in
a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international could very well be moving to Madrid prior to the
start of the 2011/12 season.
In an interview to a local sports channel, Magath enthused, “The club and I agree on the fact he’s got to leave, since he’s not going to play if he doesn’t leave.”
Diego made a move to Wolfsburg last season and bagged six goals from 30 Bundesliga games. He previously has represented the likes of Juventus, Werder Bremen, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Santos-c40446. The Brazilian was a big hit at Bremen where he scored 38 goals from 84 league
appearances. The midfielder made his Brazilian debut in 2005 and has four goals to his name until now from 33 caps.
