Felix Magath admits relegation concern
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 manager Felix Magath has admitted his side could be fighting for relegation at the end of the season.
The former Schalke boss claimed that the team showed no signs of improvement and lacked passion against Werder Bremen in the recent Bundesliga clash. The manager stated that his side deserved to lose in the end with the performance
they put in the match and has called for improvement in the future matches.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 lost at the Weserstadion on Saturday with a 4-1 score line and dropped to 14th on the league standings table. The team suffered its ninth loss of the season in the 16 games played and have won only five times.
Magath admitted that Wolfsburg are in danger of being in the relegation zone at the end of the campaign with the performances thus far in the season. The club is only three points away from the drop zone and two points from the
relegation play-off place.
The boss stated that his team dropped back in the second-half of the match and gave the attack minded home side opportunity to advance. The hosts scored three times after the interval and secured a crucial victory.
“We are fighting against relegation. We left too many holes against an attack-minded Bremen team, which cost us, and we deserved to lose. After we went 1-0 down, we no longer defended properly; it was easy to score against us,
as it has often been against us in the away games,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Magath, who has also managed Werder Bremen in the late 90s, also revealed his plans of signing a player or two in the upcoming winter transfer window. Wolfsburg already has a huge squad and signing more players would mean some
of the current players leaving.
“We will see what is possible in the transfer window, and certainly pick up a player or two who can take us forward and give one or two away,” he concluded.
Wolfsburg will next face a tough test against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 at home and will be in search for their sixth victory of the season.
