Die Wolfe boss looking to bolster his squad and eyeing signings of Tomas Rosicky and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivica-Olic-c17399 in January transfer window
Having spent five years in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 with Borussia Dortmund, Tomas Rosicky will not be a stranger to the Bundesliga should he accept an offer from the struggling Wolfsburg.
Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, recently expressed his interest in the Gunners midfielder in a bid to strengthen his squad for remainder of the season. Die Wolfe are currently struggling in the Bundesliga and find themselves 14th
in the standings with 17 points.
While talking to Bild, Magath further enthused:
"Tomas is a good player, no doubt. A few years ago, every top club wanted to sign him."
The manager also stressed on the importance of an accomplished striker who can shoulder the goal-scoring burden. The former Schalke boss hinted at the arrival of Bayern Munich striker, Ivica Olic, whom he believes has the potential
to change the club’s fortunes.
Olic has found himself out-of-favour at the Allianz-Arena and has requested for his transfer. However, the Croatian international might have to wait a bit longer as Jupp Heynckes has declined to sell any of his players during the
winter transfer window.
The former Schalke boss believes that Wolfsburg cannot even think of earning a European spot with this team and they need to recruit some big-name players in order to earn a Champions League spot.
"I am not a dreamer who believes that we can play with this team for a place in Europe. We lack a top player, one who stands out through performance or personality." Magath concluded.
The Volkswagen Arena outfit might be successful in bringing Rosicky during winters but question marks remain over Olic’s arrival in January.
Rosicky is currently in his fifth-year at Emirates Stadium and has 97 league appearances under his belt to go along with 12 goals until now.
On the other hand, Olic has 42 league games to his name since his arrival at Allianz-Arena in 2009.
