The VfL Wolfsburg manager is delighted to play at home this weekend after a series of disappointing results away from the Volkswagen Arena.
Felix Magath is pleased that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 will play in front of the home fans in this weekend’s clash against Hoffenheim after a series of disappointing results away from home. Wolfsburg will host Hoffenheim on Saturday, February
25, at the Volkswagen-Arena with the aim of achieving all three points and rekindle their hopes for a place in Europe next season.
Wolfsburg have won most of their games this season when playing in front of the home supporters and this game holds immense importance for Die Wolfe. Magath admitted that his side have been struggling away from home but is confident
that a good result at Volkswagen Arena will get the season back on track.
Magath’s men are fresh from a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Schalke last weekend and are undoubtedly under immense pressure. While talking to reporters ahead of the Hoffenheim game, the former Schalke boss further added:
"We are going to play to win this game like we always do at home. We have been very compact at home and our game has had a better structure to it. Unfortunately, the Schalke game has shown that we still have not put our away weakness
behind us and this puts us under pressure to win at home, but we did do well with this situation in the first half of the season.”
On the other hand, Magath stressed on the importance of victories in the remaining course of the season. He urged his players to get their acts together and start winning away from home in order to move clear from the danger zone.
“At the moment, our focus is on winning to keep away from the relegation zone or not to get dragged down there, which is why a victory is now incredibly important," Magath concluded.
Wolfsburg are currently eighth on the league standings table with 27 points, nine clear of the relegation zone. Die Wolfe will soon need to start winning away from home if they want to qualify for a place in next year’s UEFA Europa
League.
