The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 manager has voiced his desire to beat Otto Rehhagel’s side at the weekend to step up quest for a European berth.
Wolfsburg manager, Felix Magath, has expressed his desire to lead his team to another win in the Bundesliga when they travel to Olympiastadion on Saturday, March 31. He stated that it would be ideal for his side to continue their
surge for a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League by picking up all three points from their visit.
Magath mentioned that it is an important game for Die Wolfe and the players must give their hundred percent. He claimed that the momentum will be with his side as they are currently under a three-game unbeaten streak which also
includes a 3-1 away win to Nuremberg on March 17.
The manager mused that there are seven important games remaining this season and Wolfsburg cannot afford to relax if they want to finish in the top seven. He accepted that there are a lot of things to be improved at the club but
wants his players to solely focus on each of their remaining fixtures.
While talking to sportinglife.com, Magath further added:
"What is important for me is that we confirm our good recent games in Berlin and that we extend this positive streak. That is why this is an important game. We still have a lot of work and improving to do. We will have to see what
we get out of it in the end, but I don't think that now is the right time to consider what our goals could be."
On the other hand, the tactician admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 manager Otto Rehhagel is one of the best managers around and it would be a challenge to beat his side in their own backyard. He referred to the Berlin manager’s previous achievements
and insisted that it will be a huge success for his side to outsmart Rehhagel’s plans.
"(Hertha boss) Otto Rehhagel is one of the best in the business. He has been extremely successful as a coach. He had Bremen playing at the top for years and then led Kaiserslautern from the second division straight to the Bundesliga
title after promotion,” Magath concluded.
Wolfsburg are currently ninth in the league standings with 37 points and a win over the capital club could take them up to the seventh spot on the table.
