  1. Felix Tito Trinidad. Him and De la Hoya were the best out there around this time. Since were talking about Trinidad vs Cotto I'll be taking Tito in 7 rounds. Cotto is a good fighter but theres only a hand full of fighters that could macth Tito punching power and great skill, and he isn't one of them. Trinidad begins the first round by cautiously analyzing the challenger's style. Once he's discover it it's only a matter of time before he gets to you and starts pounding you away with hard hook. Cotto is good but i feel like he hasn't fought anyone en important in this business especially in their prime. Judah was pretty much done. Mosley was outta his prime and still gave Cotto a hard time, and Corley was finish when Cotto faced him. If you saw the Tito vs Jones fight Trinidad put up a great fight but just wasn't ready to fight Jones at 170 pounds. If you were to see Trinidad fight 10 years ago you would've seen a faster, stronger and smarter Felix Tito Trinidad. A Tito Trinidad who already had about 13 title defenses under his belt including wins against Oba Carr, Yori Boy Campas, Hector "Macho" Camacho, and Pernell Whitaker. Tito in the late 90's vs a 08 Cotto gotta go with Tito in 7 rounds.

  2. Imagine the EVENT for  such a fight.  MSG wouldnt be big enough for this one.   You'd have to have it in Puerto Rico.  Even then,  the sheer crowd might sink the Island nation into the ocean  LOL.  Im sure the day would be marked on the calender as a national holiday.  Both would be winners in this sense.

Ask me in a year and my answer might change.  For right now I have to go with Trinidad on this one.   Miguel is stronger on the inside.  He has the strength of a middleweight.  Tito can adjust to any fighter except an elusive boxer,  which is why Oscar should have won that fight.

Tito also naturally out grew welter.  IF Miguel could make it past the 10th he might be able to melt Tito down.  Still,  I have to go with Tito because Im not sure what allowed him to continue the pace in the De La Hoya fight.  Oscar was smart to take the fight when he did because he know Trinidad had been killing himself for AT LEAST 2 years,  trying to make weight.

It could very well go in Miguel's favor but I think Tito would have the better outside attack,  which is where he would want to keep the fight.   Miguel is smart for a young fighter.  However,  he is also very brave,  perhaps too brave for his own good in this case.  He would attempt to pressure Tito.

I think pride would play a big role in this fight.   The difference would boil down to who allows his pride to get the better of him.  No one is prouder than Tito.  I have always admired the way he never let the media take that away from him,  something that happens to many foreign fighters.

Tito would use this pride,  and the unseen energy some fighters get from it,  to his advantage.   Miguel is proud too.  However it would be used against him here.  He would be too overwelmed with the desire to prove a point.  He's usually cool and in control in the ring.   Against Tito this would not be the case.

Like I said,  ask me in a year and I might see it differently.

    Trinidad by KO in 11

  3. Felix Trinidad ina  fight not as competitive as people on this board might want to believe.  At his prime, Tito was nearly unbeatable at welterweight and he could punch like nobody's business.

  4. Cotto by knock out.
