  1. If running will be a problem you will know it with the first few steps of running. If you feel pain in your legs that will affect the way you usually run then stop (limping etc).

Running will actually dramatically improve healing of cuts, scrapes and bruising because it helps flush literally gallons of fresh oxygenated blood through your legs. Circulation is directly connected to healing.

    My answer: Go running!

  2. Depends, ice it right away, for 10-15 minutes, see how your knees feel.  Run up the street and down and see how it goes.    If its tender or sore to bend knees, its best to rest that day.  Continue icing 2-3X that day.  Take advil if needed.  The icing and advil will reduce inflamation and soreness and prevent from further damage. You know best how you feel.  Don't forget, not all runs are quality runs, sometimes we get "sucky" running days.  As far as bruises and scrapes...no problem.  Go running. :)

Take care, run happy and train smart ;)

  3. if your committed that shouldn't stop you from running. especially if your planning to join a sport this year. i think you should still run. after all pain is game. and what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
