Everton midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Fellaini-c24295 revealed his hunger for winning trophies with the Merseyside club next season, and believed that they need to get off to good start, in order to improve on last seasons performances.
The Toffees have not won a major title since their FA Cup triumph way back in 1995. Despite compiling an unbeaten streak of nine league matches at the end of the last season, they failed to grab a place in the Europa League and lost the FA Cup semi-final
against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. However, they did manage to finish ahead of their Merseyside rivals in the league table.
Nevertheless, with a handful of talented players finding their way in the squad and the Toffees brimming with confidence following their impressive late run from last season, Fellaini believed that it was important that his side got their 2012/13 campaign
to a flying start, and urged them to win at least a single title in the coming season.
While talking to reporters, he said: “First we have to start the season well, second, my aim is to win something like the FA Cup or the League Cup and to finish in the Europa League.”
Everton will kick off their league campaign against 19 times title holders, Manchester United on 18th of August at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside club will feature in the Java Cup scheduled to be played in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Indonesia-c2922, as a part of their pre-season preparation.
Keeping in view the size of their opponents in their opening game, the Belgian International felt that his team needs to be on their toes during their warm-up matches, in order to prepare strongly for the United game.
He added, “That is why we need very good preparation because it will be difficult against Manchester United.”
“Galatasaray have very good players, and you are playing against a national team so they will be good players as well. I think it is a good test for Everton before the start of the season.”
Fellaini, who arrived at Goodison Park for a club record transfer fee of 15 million pounds, has now spent almost 4 years at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.
He went on to say that during his stay at Everton, his team had always struggled during their opening games of the season, and wants them to break the trend this time around.
