The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Belgium-c2850 International had earlier stunned the football world by revealing that he plans on calling it quits to his Goodison Park career in January. He said that he had achieved everything he wanted at the Merseyside club, and was ready to pursue a bigger
challenge.
The 25-year old is reported to have said earlier, “I am just starting my fifth season at Everton, this will be one of my last. I have seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I will turn to another club or championship.”
However, what must be noted here is the fact that the above mentioned statement came a couple of months back in September. A lot has changed since then, as the Toffees are now considered as one of the leading contenders for a top-four finish this term, after
having gotten off their campaign on a sublime note. What is more, it has been Fellaini who has led his side’s charge, scoring a handful of goals and consequently catching interest of the Premier League’s big boys.
Everton finished at the seventh place last season, narrowly missing out on a place in the Europa League. Nonetheless, the main reason which earlier compelled Fellaini into making remarks about his January exodus i.e. to be a part of a Champions League outfit,
is something which he can now achieve without parting ways with the Merseyside club.
Hence, the midfielder is likely to wait until the end of the term before making a decision on his future. If Everton manage to qualify for the Champions League or even Europa League, the Belgian ace might make up his mind of continuing his career at Goodison
Park.
Back in November, he commented on his earlier remarks by saying, “There is interest in me. But Everton are an ambitious club as well. I don't think they'll let their best players go just like that. I want to play for one of the biggest clubs one day. But
I am patient.”
The former Standard Liege player, who joined the Toffees in July 2008 for a mammoth 15 million pounds transfer fee, has reportedly drawn interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, with the Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, having already hinted at his intention of entering
the transfer market in January to seek his signature. Besides that, the ultra-rich French club, Paris Saint Germain, are another party who are expected to enter the fray to claim his services.
