She tried to introduce creationism to be taught as a science. Has this changed your opinion on McCain?

(Note: I ask this in R&S because I'm one of the few atheists that hang out in Elections)

  1. Unsurprised.

  2. well I'm not American

but it was a clearly firstly an attempt to get the Hilary voters and secondly - why do so many americans like their leaders so stupid?

I want someone with a bit of intelligence in charge of my country.

  3. Well he is trying to follow and emulate George Bush who has started more wars than anyone else on earth and claimed each time that it was his god given duty!

She will just bolster the drive to kill more heathens!!

  4. Oh, no! Not a fundie in the White House! The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

Atheists are just as fundamentalistic and dogmatic about things like evolution and humanism as Christians are about creationism. Keep on fighting us in the courtroom and Capital Hill because you cannot compete with us in the debate hall or the science lab.

  5. Hasn't changed mine, lol.

  6. He's continuing his program of kissing up to the Religious Right. He seems to be under the illusion that Clinton supporters who are still mad will vote for him because of Palin, but I bet you can count them on your fingers and toes.

  7. I'm not atheist but agnostic.  Yes, I think it's pretty obvious.  Palin is not just a woman, she is solidly pro-life, pro-gun, pro creationism, etc. etc.  She is there not to please feminists, and certainly not to attract followers of Hillary.  She is there to please the Christian Right.  The fundies have not been happy with McCain who is not completely pro-life, etc.

Someone on the radio today said her selection was a Hail Mary play, a desperate attempt to get the Christian Right on McCain's side, to get their contributions.  It was looking like they were going to sit this one out.  If McCain starts getting endorsements from the likes of Pat Robertson and Jim Dobson, it will show the stratagem worked.

  8. I really think politics should stop trying to impose their religion on the people. In every country there are so many different religions, and someone whom wants to lead the country is trying to preach to you in a way to make you follow their own beliefs. Nooo thank youuuu.

  9. If she was a true "fundie" then I would think she would be at home taking care of her kids instead of running as VP

    Its that Guy

Why wouldnt she please the feminists?  She is a succesful woman.  Isnt that what feminists are suppose to want???  Is it only ok to be succesful as a woman if you are a liberal for it to count for feminists?

  10. If evidence comes out that he hand-picked her, I'm going to be extremely disappointed in him.

If it's found that she was chosen by the other republicans, I guess I'll feel okay-ish about McCain... If she gets creationism in public schools as a science, though, I'm moving countries. x.x

  11. I was never planning on voting for McCain in th first place.

  12. no way creationism will ever put in to school, so it doesnt bother me the academy of science and most likely democrats would see to that

McCain has good ideas and knows what he is doing, look at his website if you dont know

Obama has no idea, he is just being vague and hoping to win, check out his plans on his website

thumbs down me all you want, the fact is McCain is a good choice for president and Obama is an awful choice the facts are clear, so no well recited speech can change it

  13. I'm going to vote for my white brother McCain. No way would I vote for a d‍‍arkie!!!!!

  14. I think it is scary.

I also think it is scary that the most powerful country in the world is thinking of electing a leader from a political party who seem to open the atlas each day and decide which country to torment next, to 'protect American interests' of course.

What is even scarier is that they claim to do it by the will of god.

  15. typical.

    Obama 08

  16. Sounds like the debate with Biden should be a royal snooze fest.  He'll be reading from someone else's speech, and she'll be reading the Bible.
