  1. I'm not a Sox fan but I saw the game live.

First of all the guy should have never been on the field. He was hobbling at 1st for most of the game and should have been taken out for defensive purposes once the Red Sox took the lead in the 10th by 2.

The look on his face was disappointment but he wasn't really to let down because it was only game 6 and he knew that they could still win it in game 7. He really didn't let it bother him that much.

The Red Sox had the lead in game (7) 3-0 going into the 6th inning. It seemed like Buckner's gaff would have been all forgiven but the Mets rallied again and took game (7) 8-5.

The weird thing about Buckner is that he wore Cubs batting gloves while playing with the Red Sox. He was wearing one under his glove when the ball that Mookie hit went through his legs. Some think he got bit by the curse of the Cubs for wearing it.

  2. My Angels just swept your red sox.

    They Suck!!!!!!

  3. ok first of all he must have felt like c**p the next day but everyone makes errors his was just at the wrong time i wouldnt show my face for like a year

  4. Buckner shouldn't have even been in the game poor management the guy could barely walk.It was extremely pain full to watch the ball go through his legs since the would have been champs if it didn't but they had a chance to get it done in game seven and didn't the Boston sports media think they are the end all in the sports world when they are more of an annoyance to fans and athletes, they crucified Buckner for years and he really didn't deserve it.

  5. Buckner wasn't the issue in the series, he just had the "one moment" that everybody saw on TV and blamed him. If you really want to place blame, look towards Calvin Shiraldi and Bob Stanley who blew every game they lost.

  6. It's kind of like Steve Bartman for the Cubs. It's just someone to blame for a game they should have won even with that play.

Also, I hear people say Buckner sucks and reference to this play. But really, Buckner was a great player.
