I found a flyer in Times Square yesterday that read "Vampires are immoral. Support Human Rights. Say NO to the Vampire Rights Amendment" and decided to do some research. I can't tell if this is all for real or part of that HBO series. I'm really confused. Someone explain this to me with PROOF and LINKS please. Thanks :)

  1. It's a new HBO show based on the Sookie Stackhouse series of books by author Charlaine Harris.

I've read the books and they are OK. With HBO doing a series though, it should be pretty good.

  2. It's not real. It's a very clever marketing tactic of HBO to promote their new show. it get''s people to look up the "Vampire Rights Amendment" page (which I'm assuming you did), which is apage owned by HBO.

There are real vampires, but we are not like fictional ones, not immortal, don't have any supernatural powers, don't burn up inm the sun or anything like that. Real vampires are living, mortal people with a werid energy condition.

Do a Google search on "real vampires" and "psychic vampire".

  3. Maybe some Anita Blake fan's gone wild?

Sounds like something a Humans First member would say, or an H.A.V

    (Humans Against Vampires)

Nope its a Sookie Stackhouse book being made into a tv show! WOOT! I love these books, and yes HBO is trying to premote there tv show..cool...yeah...woot..yeah..

  4. You can go here:

    http://www.hbo.com/events/trueblood/

It is the HBO site for the series that has the link to Tru Blood beverages and Blood Copy, which is fictional hype for the series (fictional=NOT REAL). As Persephone said, this is all a marketing ploy for the HBO series, not a REAL issue.

  5. Hahaha, this is part of a brilliant viral marketing campaign for an upcoming show called "True Blood" on HBO in September.  It gets you paying attention doesn't it?

  6. What are you talking about?

  7. It isn't real, there are no vampires so there is no need for them to have an amendment.
