Question:

Felony assault charges?

My brother in law was involved in a car accident with another member of the family. He was drunk, but she was driving in the middle of the road, too fast and not paying attention. So they are going to charge him with felony assault because he was drunk. She ended up losing her leg because the hospital let it get infected with staph infection. But it will look bad on him when they go to court. He has quit drinking and is scared he will go to prison. She refuses to take any of the blame for this accident. We live in Missouri.

  1. WOW, this is a great one. You might be a red neck if you ever drove into a family member whose leg was amputated. Injuring another when driving drunk is, in most States a felony. I don't think he should worry about the amputated leg "looking bad on him". If he already has two legs, why would they put it on him?
