Femake Jockey in Kent, Derby, Katie Lee?

Has there been a female jockey in K. derby before and what she did. How come Katie Lee is not riding in K. Derby? I love the way she brings horses to the finish line. You saw her in Phily. 60 to one and won the race.

There have been several women who have ridden in the Derby, none have won to date.

Katie Lee is a relative newcomer to the sport, it takes a long time for a jockey to build up the clientele to become considered for a mount in the Derby. Most owners will go with a "Big Name" when it comes time for the Derby simply because they are more familiar with the track and have tons more experience.

There are exceptions to that though... Stewart Elliot and Smarty Jones, Jeremy Rose and Afleet Alex, Mario Pino and Hard Spun ( although Mario has been around a long time)

Julie Krone has won The Belmont and Rosemary Homeister Jr has ridden in several Derbies.
