Female Betta......HELP QUICK!?

Question

My two bettas are mating as i type but no eggs are coming out of her yet and each time after they mate the male makes more bubbles to add to his nest. The female has a chubby belly and vertical stripes her egg sack is also very noticeable.

Soon you will see the male pick up the eggs after an embrace.  He coats the eggs with his saliva to help them float in the bubble nest.  Just be patient.  Let the fish do what comes naturally.  Male bettas do all the work and they are usually very conscientious fathers.  Remove the female betta after she is depleted so she can't eat the eggs or get killed by the male.

If the female does not expel her eggs and the male gives her a really hard time, you may have to remove her for a few days and then try again.  Your male is obviously ready to go but your female may not be.  That's the biggest trick with breeding bettas.  Timing it so both fish are ready to breed.  Try putting her in a jar next time and she will jump from the jar into the tank when she is ready and willing to breed.  Just keep the jar full of water and the top of the jar just a little higher than the water level in the tank so she has to jump out and not just swim out.  Use a clear jar so she can see the male and he can see her.

Well, give them some time.  They're probably first timers, right?  They may need some practice to get it right.  As long as they aren't injuring each other, leave them be.

Maybe it's eggs he's blowing into the nest.

It may take a few tries, as the eggs must loosen up.

Wait a little bit and see what happens then. It's going to take some time and patience, although it might not work out the first time. No worries! Just try again and they'll eventually get there. =]
