Female Jail?

Question

I was wondering if females get bullied in jail? I might have to go soon and I am scared...is there anyone can tell me so I can prepare in advance...besides the obvious like don't do what I did.

You asked about jail, so I will answer that.  Prison is a completely different thing, so I can't help you there.

In our female pod there are about 40-80 inmates at any given time.  98% of them are fine and cause no problems during their stay at all.  The other 2% you would need to watch out for, not that they are violent, but they try to manipulate the newbies.

Don't panic too much if it's the county jail. I spent a week there myself and actually made a few friends. A few people gave me trouble, but I just ignored them. You'll be ok if you go in with confidence and make sure right away that you don't allow yourself to be seen as an easy mark. If you have to act like a hardass even though you are not, do it.

But county isn't all violent or anything.

There is always a chance that bullying will happen but no guarantee....it depends on how long someone spends their time there and if they try to do any bullying themselves......and there is nothing you can do to prepare yourself in advance for jail....the only thing you can do is find out from the jail you'll be in what they allow in and what they don't so maybe you can bring in a few extra things to make the stay go by faster.

but that's nothing compared to what men have to put up with in prison.

That's why they have separate prisons for men and women. If you are just booked at the county jail for a few days, you might get harassed a little bit but if it gets too bad you can always call the guard. But if you get sent to prison long-term, you will be in a women-only facility.
