  1. Well, you won't be doing any Recon missions or Airborne missions.  Sorry, you are a female and there are still rules in place.  Also, you will not be in the Special Forces in the Army, again you are still a female.

You could be a pilot, but that would require you to join a force with planes and be an Officer, not an Enlisted.  The Army has female combat helicopter pilots but you need to be an Officer or get into the Army Warrant Officer Pilot program.  I see you have not done this prior to your enlistment so you won't be planting flyers, gathering surveillance intel (except from your desk) or doing Airborne missions (Don't mean to be repetative)

Your job as a PSYOPS and in the Intel field is very freaking important without being in combat.  You are the one that directly affects what the commander wants to do in his Area of Operations.  Working in Humint/Psyops/Intel is an extraordinarily tough job in and of itself.  You don't need to be jumping out of a plane to make all the difference in the world, in fact, you are better served by not.  You can, however, save hundreds of lives by doing your job well.

  2. My husband is w/10th SFG(A).  To answer your question, there are an increasing number of women being sent to SF groups due to the relative small number of people w/Intel MOS'.  In SF, women can be part of Group support (GSB, GSC, or GSSC)and work in the MID doing HUMINT, GEOINT,IMINT, etc...Female intel does deploy with SF units, although they are stuck behind a desk--just like they are stateside. I'm not quite sure about females in black ops, but men intel support do deploy w/Delta.

My husband HATES the fact that there are women in the SF units because it was a boys club, and now they have to build special quarters, separate bathrooms, etc...and A LOT of the women get pregnant while they are deployed (mostly to be sent home).

  3. I know that women are used in combat now.  I think that e mail was from someone who was PO'd because she didn't get what she wanted.  I wish I had gone in the service but back then when I was of the age to go they wouldn't use women in combat.  I'd have loved to have been a nurse though in Nam.  You go girl!

  4. don't join thats the best answer of all

u are getting paid out of my tax money

  5. ABC News had a story on Friday night about they "Persons of the Week". Three sisters, oldest a Captain in the Air Force who flies C130 Hercules. Next sister flies OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopters. And the youngest flies UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. All three are serving in AFGHANISTAN.

  6. Yes women are not suppose to be in combat situations so if you expect to be in one DON'T JOIN.

  7. Women are not allowed to be in direct combat hot zones. Not to say you wont see action, if your unit is attacked you attack back. You can get a job in psych Ops and you wont be behind a desk you can do the same job as men just in a zone not likely to see any action
