I read that the gender ratio in USA is 100 females for every 99 males. But in cities such as Detroit, Washington, New Orleans and St. Louis there are way more women.

Females: 100

Males: 85

Why are there far more females in these cities in comparison to the USA average?

  1. because society is biased against men.

  2. The cities you just listed have very high crime ratings, including gang and murders.

male on male violence.  The men are going to jail, or worst.

  3. There is more homicidal violence in those cities, and men are more prone to violence.

  4. Men are more violent by nature than women. We are more likely to be murdered than women are, we are more likely to die in an accident than women are, we are more likely to successfully complete a suicide than women are (although women attempt suicide more often). In any given year, there are about 105 males born for every 100 females.  5% of all American males die before their 30th birthday compared to less than 1% percent of women born the same year. From age 30 onward, American women begin to outnumber American men. In some major cities women significantly outnumber men as these men are more likely to lead hazardous lifestyles.
