Question:

Female and anti-feminist movement in a sense?

There's all this "women should be independent", "women are equal", etc feminist movement talk going on, and like don't get me wrong--I would never put up with a guy thinking he could order me around, but like...

I'm a girl, and I wouldn't mind being a housewife at all. lol.

(not that I'm lazy. I'm a practically all A college student, but more because of society's pressure to go to college than anything).

I love when a guy opens the door for me, pays for my food, and what have you.

And I wouldn't be offended in the least bit if a guy felt like he needed to, in a sense, protect me in ways that I can't do for myself. I don't see that as him being superior. I see that as him caring about me as a result of being qualitatively different than I am.

I do think there is a reason men and women are different.

I don't think men are better than women, but I do think we both need each other to an extent and should have different roles and not be told that our only differences should be anatomical.

This is my position, and it's probably not changing, but do you find it weird for a 19 year old female to hold this viewpoint?

  1. No, it is not weird at all! It is your nature. I felt the same when I was your age, and I knew a lot of young women who felt this way, but it was a big feminist era and they were afraid to express it publicly.

Nature made us this way because we were meant to be home raising our children.

  2. No.

I believe a feminist is about making choices. You decided that this is what you like. There is nothing wrong with that. It's not like back in the day where women had to stay home and there were no other options. It's not about women burning their bras, insisting on paying for everything, or being a CEO, but about making their own decisions about what is best for her.

  3. No you're not weird. You just haven't been corrupted by gender politics yet.

  4. Fairly well enlightened at your age.  Most people don't get it at all.

People make the mistake of thinking that equality means same, when it refers to equal opportunity with no regard to differences.  Men and women ARE different:  Different body parts, different neuro-chemistry, different emotional make-up, different skills and ways of thinking.

  5. Weird? No. Naive? Definitely.
