  1. walking lady is right

  2. No, they can't.  But when a live-bearing fish gets impregnated once, they can have babies 4 times.  That's what you're seeing.

  3. Once a female mollie has s*x with a male mollie, the female's body will store the male's sperm for many months.  If she has s*x with the same or other males, the sperm is stored together so eggs will be randomly fertilized by the mixed sperm.  How long she can have babies without being with a male is determined by how much sperm she is storing and how many eggs she produces.  She could have more or less than 4 batches of babies.

Some male mollies take longer to mature than others leading some to believe that female mollies can turn into males. Immature male mollies do look like females but do not get pregnant and have babies.  For a mollie to change s*x, she must have babies and then change into a male and be able to fertilize a female.  This has been proven to happen a few times but is rare.  Unlike some species of fish, female mollies do not change into males in the absence of male mollies.

  4. No They cannot change.  You have a male Molly in there and someone didn't know it was a Male.   Aren't the babies cute and I hope you separate them so they don't get eaten. I love watching them get born as tiny mollies.
