  1. There are different forms of female circumcision. At it's most basic level, it is just a cutting of the clitoral hood similar to a male circumcision. In its most extreme and more common forms, it consists of a complete removal of the clitoris and often the labia as well. Usually this is done without anesthesia, and is extremely painful to undergo. After the labia and clitoris are removed, everything is sort of sewn together down there, allowing only a small hole for urine and menstrual blood to get out. The first time a woman has s*x this hole is forcefully opened causing severe bleeding and severe pain.

The person who said that this procedure is rare is absolutely wrong. This is very common in certain countries - mostly east Africa including Egypt. In some places almost all young girls undergo genital mutilation even though it may be technically illegal there.

If you want to see a picture of what this looks like, you can do a Google image search for "female genital mutilation". But I warn you it will not be pretty.

  2. It's not circumcision... it's mutilation. But to answer your question it's the partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs.

  3. it's like male circumcision only it's the removal of the clitoral hood, and it's not something that is practiced much anymore though if i man can be circumcised why can't a woman i say.
