  1. they are not, im sorry.

  2. COMBAT MOS   no service,  no branch  can let a female join and maintain a combat mos,   sometimes they let us ( women)  go to the schools that commonly used for combat, ( airborne)  etc   but we are not allowed to carry a combat MOS  only combat support and non  combat,

that is the bottom line,   and anyone that says any different is not being honest to you ,   now i say that,  because i was one of the first women in the regular army ,  when they did away with the WAC ( womens army corps)  and my daughter just joined the Corps,  Now many MOS  have opened up to women in that time frame,   Women have come a long way in the military, but not that far YET....

    hope that helps

    good luck  ;)

  3. These guys are a bunch of sexist pigs. Sweetie the army, marines, ect. is discrimitive torwards women. But there is nothing that says that women are not allowed. Also there is at least one women in every branch, and you could be another. If it is something you want to do then enlist, go through the training and stay tough. Prove to these sexist as*holes you're just as tough if not tougher than them! Also it would be illegal for them to even imply such a thing. America is the land of the free and equal opportunity employment. The marines is still a job and they cannot deny you a postion because of your s*x. Discrimination. And for the guy below me AGAIN!! That is discrimination. D-I-S-C-R-I-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N!!!! It is not legal! All i'm trying to say is these guys think they're so tough, but they cry like b*tches to us when they're friends aren't around. I think we're tougher than they are.

  4. Join the Marines and go in for a high tech position like in the air wing.  After bootcmap you will spend a few week doing Combat Training, even though you won't be able to hold a combat MOS, you still get trained for combat.  And I would like to say that once you get done this MCT or Marine Combat Training  you com eback and tell us that you are glad you weren't allowed to hold such an MOS where you would be doing things like that day in and day out.  It's rough and tough and no place for a lady.  Not trying to be sexist but its the truth.

  5. JESUS l***o were just saying women arent allowed in combat cal down!!!

  6. Unforunitly not.

And to be honest the Army,Marines,Air Force, and the Navy all are bias towards women in one way or another.

The United States Coast Guard(USCG) on the other hand allows women to do any job or as they call them "Ratings" that the males do. In fact ALL Jobs in the Coast Guard are available for both. Also is you get pregnant while in the USCG you can take up to a year or more off to take care of your baby and yourself. Of course you wont get paid, but the other services will force you to come back within a month or so, or lock you up.

Coast Guard is best for women, they let the ladies do everything us guys do.

  7. Women cannot hold "combat" positions which would include snipers.

If you're interested in joining go talk to a recruiter (contrary to what some people believe they do not lie to you). You'll take the ASVAB and they'll let you know what fields you qualify for.

  8. Unfortunately not.  And to correct you... you cannot join directly into a sniper MOS.  You must be in the infantry field first, (not open to females unfortunately)  then with high marks, a sufficent rank, and an excellent physical fitness test score (i'm talking near perfect), you can APPLY for scout/sniper school, which has one of the highest drop rates of any military school in the world.

But you're absolutely right on one other thing... those guys are some of the baddest, craziest SOBs i've ever met.  I really commend you for even wanting to do something like that.

  9. It's true. Try MP if you want to get as close to combat as you can...thats what I did...and it is the closest you can get in any branch. Females aren't allowed in combat roles.

And to "pretty_en_pink" or whatever...you are very misinformed. go to a recruiting station and try to fight that one. you're not the first and you won't be the last. there are reasons women can't be in combat roles. I'm a woman in the Army and after going through training I understand why. get off your soapbox.

  10. Probably. I don't think women should be in "combat" and neither does the Corps.
