Female martial artist, a question for the guys?

Guys what do you think when you a see a female martial artist, do you think that is cool, or do get intimidated, especially if she can take out a guy 2-3 times her size

personally I think female martial artist kick but, but then I may be bias in my favor.

Hey I'm the father of a very cute 12 yr old girl who has been doing martial arts for 5 years and not in some mcdojo, but a school where contact IS the rule. On several occasions I've seen her take down boys her size and bigger. Especially the newbies that think they can take her just because she's a girl. A couple of times bringing them to tears of embarrassment and a little pain now and then. She is not a big girl either. While she wont intimidate many people, but one thing is for sure, she will gain their respect. Which is all I want for her. So do I think its cool. d**n RIGHT I DO!

I wouldn't care if its what you like to do then why should us guys have any problem with it. Also I would actually like it if a girl could take care of herself. You should do what you love. My cousin is a guy who takes dance and because of that the girls refuse to date him. But he does not care he does what he loves.

I have coached amateur boxing the last 6 years and from experience the girls fight harder and train harder i have been watching Gina Carrano since she went to Thailand and kicked the **** outta their champ

Totally cool and an opponent is an opponent, gender irrespective.  My ex wife is 6' 170 lbs and played basketball for UCONN, no man in his right mind would discount her as an opponent.

I take martial artists as individuals, I try not to think of gender.  Ok, if we get a hottie, sure I'll acknowledge it, but she has to perform to our uniform standards as women are more likely to be attacked then men, I think (no statistics on it, just a SWAG).

I have seen girls outperforming guys in the BJJ classes, in which there are some things dependent on weight and strength while learning technique.  We have this one girl that will roll for 4 hours during open mat time, she is amazing.

I have seen some girls on the KM side with serious game.  I have one woman and her husband, he is well...less than good, she however has some real game in her and it is awesome, she is a good fighter, gender irrespective.

People are people, we have had women and men who just come in to lose weight and have little real interest in fighting, they usually spend a year in the same place, they just love to sweat, which we give them.

Me, I respect anyone who has game in them.

When I was in college I dated a Black Belt. She got me into karate and I was always in awe of what she could do. Quite frankly it attracted me to her more because she was so good at karate.

In the end I married her and 17 years later, we still do karate together.

very cool to me.   But if a guy was the type that tried to be overly dominate and tries to be intimidating all the time.  Then he wouldnt be able to take it.

Exactly the same as I see a male martial artist! They might look better :), but looks don't let you walk away in a situation;It's what you can do  that counts.!

My GF or my x-GF ( not sure yet) is a world karate champ. Nothing special about that. I'd much rather have her be a nice person. Though she can't take me out, I train in MMA.

i think its a good thing. Especially when the man is also in martial arts. I used to date a 4th degree black belt, and we had the best times together. We kicked each others butts but it was totally cool. So yeah i think its fine

Yes i think it's very attractive especially since I do martial arts to ^_^.

What many girls need these days is discipline in watching out what they do or whom they hang out with, it's a dirty world out there and at any moment something bad can happen to us, but we need to watch out for our girls the most because they're the reason people live in this dirty world. So Martial Arts is always good for a lady to practice, physically and mentally. And i'd like a girl who could kick my ***, no joke i think that'd be fun, just don't hit the babies ^_^.

I am in awe at some of our female practitioners. I am also intimidated by them. You see them outside the dojo thinking they look so sweet and then the thought of them turning into a tiger at a moments notice sends shivers up your spine. It is awesome to be able to learn from them.

As long as the martial artist takes their art seriously, it's always "cool". The hardest kick I ever took was from a young women and I love being able to say that.
