Female s*x addiction? Why don't people take it seriously?

I think its really sad how the media and pop culture has almost glorified it. It is a *REAL* illness. There is a huge negative side to s*x addiction that people don't know. Two years ago I was an A+ student with a 8.9 GPA and now I'm barely passing, I never attend lectures, I don't have a bf, I have no friends, no relationships, no goals, I spend days at at time on the internet in random chatrooms talking to random guys, I've been with more men that I can count or remember, I've developed social anxiety because of the shame associated with it, I have a double personality and a double life, I wonder if any man will ever respect me, I feel used, guilty and ashamed, I have low self-esteem, I feel like a s*x object not a real human being, I'm on high dose androcur and anti-depressants to get my s*x drive down, Its completely ruined my life!

  1. Ignorance, if people cannot themself imagine having a particular problem, they cannot imagine the pain and suffering associated with it. This is true of any problem, not just s*x addiction. I'm sorry to hear that you are unhappy. No advice I can offer you is qualified I'm afraid. Take care.

  2. this is more like a relationship kinda question

The fact is that female s*x addiction is very influential and many people enjoy it. Because of this high interest, we are all intersted in meeting and flirting with the opposite s*x. Like you, you enjoy chatting with random guys because it makes you feel easy. Go to a psychiatrist and relate your problems (don't think of this as a place for losers but a sanctuary that can help you). Even take some counseling at school and don't be tempted by friends to not take it. Be a woman and support yourself^_^

  3. I'm sorry. we all have problems if that makes you feel any better.  As for your problem though, trust me you can deffinitely change it.  Just think about what you are doing.  Re focus your life.  RESPECT your self.  Do not sleep with every guy.  And yes you seem very intelligent and i am sure that there are guys out there that can respect you for that.  If you are known as a "s**t" where you are currently living / going to school maybe its time to change cities and just start fresh?  good luck.

  4. i'd take it if i could get it

  5. buy a vibrator and get on with your life

  6. I'm quite there with you sweetheart! My first year of college just passed and because I was away I felt I had the need to sleep around with guys because I thought I was never going to have that chance again and I regret it. I don't even talk to those guys anymore and I did feel a bit used.

While i'm not in the position you are, i feel you can flip your life back around to that excellent student you were before, you just have find yourself again. If it is an option, try moving away to another place or just hang out with a different crowd where they may not of your past.

I have a friend who slept with about 30 guys and she's only 20...she tells me she loves having s*x. i can see her faults and her issues with that but honestly i feel that you and her have some insecurity issues.

This ordeal has obviously traumatized you and the best advice I can give you is to get help, therapy at least, and try to make this issue public since this is your concern. I wish you well with everything. Your life is under turmoil but it's not ruined, you're still young from what I believe and things can only get better in your situation. Stay strong and positive, I know its easier said than done but the only one who can truly help you is yourself, you can so overcome this urge. s*x is not the only thing in life, you can find ways to fulfill your life without it so much.

  7. I take it seriously and I urge you to form a support group with me so that we can be there for each other in our time of need.

  8. Here, here. I feel exactly the same as you, and it has also played a HUGE roll in my life, and not for the good.

People don't take it serious at all.

A s*x therapist would be your best bet. I've thought about it, but have never thought they will be able to help either.

I'm a 24/7 submissive to a DOM who is also a s*x addict. He is even more over the line than me, but again, no one takes it serious.

I could never be with a quote "normal, nice guy" would never work.

When I say I need to have s*x all the time, I'm not exaggerating. I mean s*x ALL THE TIME. I have had men leave me because of it.

You can already see the smart @ss remarks your getting from the men on here. They don't take it for real and have no idea what your talking about. They also are always like, "Oh I would do you" "Oh I could handle it" and in reality they couldn't, they have no idea.

It's not a funny thing. I have put myself in REALLY dangerous situations because of it, and I'm sure you have as well.

    Good Luck and Be Safe.

Who ever gave me the thumbs down can blow me!

  9. Ask your therapist for the name of a qualified clinical hypnotherapist.  Check out some work done by Dr. Yapko on depression too.
