  1. huh... wat u talking bout???

  2. What offends me are your terms for Christianity, and God.  You certainly are under no obligation to believe, but your flippant disregard for the beliefs of others is appalling.  EDIT:  I know some use the "x" to abbreviate Christ. I wouldn't exactly call that a "basic of my own religion". Preferring the correct spelling doesn't make one ignorant, or in need of a brain stem.  I'm also not aware of any widespread use of the word "gawd" for God.

  3. U actually believe in that religion BS

  4. Christians today enjoy an "a la carte" interpretation of the Bible. They emphasize parts they like and ignore bizarre and blatantly discriminatory passages.

EDIT - Crouching doggie: you are the delusional one. The Bible is inundated with passages like:

Deuteronomy 22:20-21: If, however, the charge is true and no proof of the girl's virginity can be found, she shall be brought to the door of her father's house and there the men of her town shall stone her to death.

    Matthew 18:25 :

Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

    etc. etc.

and you say to recognize such sexism is a product of postmodern feminism and advances hate? I think recognizing the sexism is a product of literacy.

EDIT II: Haven't these dumbells ever heard of "xmas"?

  5. that is why i believe in Deism and not Christianity

  6. Not a female, but I think I can add to this discussion.

I'm glad you explained what the x was, because I had no idea what you were talking about before that and thought you were some troll.  Well, I still think you might be a troll, but I'll try to stay on topic and not get into insults unlike some people here asking this question.

We call God "He," "Him," etc., but I don't think God has a gender.  Man was created first in God's own image, which is why I think we use the male pronouns.  I've never really thought that God has a gender in the human sense though.

People who actually read the Bible will notice that Adam is punished as well.  Eve is punished because she sinned first, which didn't help Adam in making his decision (peer pressure-I'm sure we've all screwed up because of it at one time or another).

Is Christianity sexist?  No.  Women had restrictions placed on them, but then so did men.  And you can't deny that most of the bad people listed in the Bible are men.

If Christianity is sexist against women, why is it that men have many more verses aimed at them about how to treat their wives than vice versa?

GoldenGirl-The passage in Matthew is a parable.  It doesn't mean that's what we should do, but it's the way society often was at the time, which is why Jesus said that.  It helps to actually read the Bible in its context instead of picking and choosing what you want to pick apart-which ironically enough, is exactly what you're accusing Christians of doing.  I do think there's some truth to what you're saying, but I can't help but notice the irony and hypocrisy.  There are a lot of things in the Bible that aren't condoned by God.

As for the first passage, I think "He who is without sin cast the first stone" overrules that one.  That was a woman who was being accused in that story, by the way.

Hey There has a good answer.  If you think women were treated better by non-Christians, you have no knowledge of basic history.  They were usually treated worse.

Dumbbells?  I'm not the one who doesn't know my information here.  Xianity isn't exactly a word people use very often.

I said you might be a troll because your spelling and capitalization skills rival that of an 8-year old-and I'm not even including "xian" in this discussion.  That's usually a good indication of who trolls are, although not always.  Plus, your great need to insult those who disagree with you has troll written all over it.  I don't see much real mature discussion anywhere here from this question.

  7. Rofl!

  8. Prior to Christianity, it was perfectly acceptable to harm your wife and stone women to death. Contrary to your postmodern chatter, Christianity brought women to the table. Perhaps not elevating women to equal status, but women were not equal prior to Christianity either. Catholicism demanded a new kind of respect for women which was the birth of human rights and justice. There were now laws against harming women in all countries that adopted Christianity.

Not to mention the fact that Catholicism gave a woman (The Virgin Mother) near God status.

Go to some wiccan or Atheist forum if you want people to agree with your lies about Christianity.

I do not speak as a theist, I am merely someone who honors intellectual honesty above all.

  9. This sort of talking-snake rubbish is typical of the delusional nature of modern Feminism as a method of advancing hatred toward others.
