Question:

Feminism is about equality with men! Wouldn’t their ‘equal work’ in developing countries silence doubters?

All around the world there are countries pushing to develop as fast as possible, where skills, ideas, endurance, technical abilities etc,

Here are some that have joined the UN and are welcoming of any workers, or groups.

I have visited some of these wonderful countries!

(Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Chad,

Congo, Democratic Republic of the Djibouti, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia.)

What I am asking is, IF a group of feminist worked in a developing Nation or two and built the new ‘Hover Dam’ could any one on planet earth EVER again doubt their Sincerity, Abilities, Claims and Rights?

WHO WOULD DARE???

  1. Feminism - The clue is in the name. They want it to be a womans world where woman come first. They aren't sincerely trying to do anything in the benefit of anyone else otherwise they would be called equalists.

  2. Glad you're being so straightup pickle.

It is about equality isn't it, for the sake of being equal. Doesn't matter if it was achieved by fair means i.e. equal opportunity or manipulated opportunity which is whats happening now since feminists realise that equal outcomes probably won't happen through equal opportunity alone..

    I respect your candour (Y)

  3. Feminism isnt about "equality with men"

Its about equality full stop - people being allowed to live on this planet, and going about their business and having any opportunities that they wish to pursue.  Whether male, female, black, white, disabled, etc.

  4. Many individual feminists have done this. Hasn't worked so far. Many *women* have in fact, and for centuries. So the idea that women and men are equal should by your argument be common place now.

Plus, the idea of equality is all humans should be granted it at birth. Not half, and the other half can have it when you say. That's not equality.

  5. Feminism is in fact working through the UN to create laws which discriminate against men e.g. in India UNIFEM is supporting the prosecuting of men under extremely prejudiced domestic 'violence' laws, which mean a man can be jailed for insulting any female relative http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/wo...

UNIFEM say: “In India, the Trust Fund grantee has worked to increase women survivors’ access to justice by supporting a uniform interpretation of the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act” (page 10)

The punchline to this sick joke is that you and I are funding these laws through out taxes http://www.unifem.org.jo/pages/faqs.aspx

  6. if anti-fems would actually recognize that most feminist groups are working to improve the lives of women world over, but since that doesn't fit into their narrow worldview, they ignore it or claim we are lying.

I work in the Middle East, and I work in a group that specifically focuses on Africa and Sudan.

why should women's rights even be questioned? why are we expected to work doubly hard for something that is taken as a given for men?

    what is a "hover dam"?

  7. There has never been a group in history before that talk so big and so much as ‘Feminist Men and Women’ and have proved so little!

    edit:

LifeCoach - you are the kind of suck up 'male' that Women just can’t stand, you say a lot, but what are you saying?

    Do you know?

Women want 'f-a-i-r-n-e-s-s', we don't want Feminist 'riding our backs'; we don't want to be slaves!!

GO READ "Animal Farm" GET A CLUE!!!

  8. Misandrists should all be sent to Africa.  There they will be needed.

  9. Sadly, some people just don't want to recognize the work that women do:  physical labor, intelligent inventions, bravery and strength.  Some people see these traits as manly things but the fact is that women have them, too and it offends people with insecurities and ego problems.  While SOME feminists hate men,  not all feminists do.  Fighting for some fairness with personal rights, respect and job opportunities is what it's all about.

  10. I think Feminism was something that had to happen. In the early days it was view with much destain, men were feeling threatened by the fact that women weren't only to be correcting them when they got home, but while they were at work too:)

It  shook the establishment a little. And in western society some half century has caused major growth in estate prices, where families are expected to have a double income nowadays.  This has in a strange backhand complement actually disadvantaged single mothers struggling to get ahead in a world constructed for twice the salary.

In my part of the world (australia) we have all but reached equality, including paternity leave for expectant fathers.  Average Wages are still slanted in Mens favour, some of which can be inferred by the 5 -10 years leave Most woman take in having families and lost opportunity (because of absense) to gain promotion.

I think its time, to actually start to celebrate some of the differences in Mens and Womens inherant abilities.  And I generalise.  Men, on the whole, construct visual images and diagrams much more easily.  Woman, can hold several concepts in momentum at once.  3 out of 4 men, can point to north in an infamiliar room, without prompting, whilst only 1 in 4 woman can.  Men tend to be emotionally inept more prevalently whilst Women tend to have their finger on peoples feelings with more  assurity, a thing that men still often cower from.

With these and several other things in mind.  It becomes obvious that we are actually whilst overwhelmingly similar if you add it all up. Our different anatomy, Biology, physiques, and development. Give us advantages in different ways.

Lets respect, the Male Kindergarten Teacher, with as much tenacity as the Female Engineer.

With regards to the statement above mine:

We are all female in the womb till we get a smack of testosterone or not. Women do come first, the pagans new it.  I certainly put my woman a little in front of myself (often). Why is chivalry so respected but feminism demonised?

  11. I certainly do intend to do my fair share in some of those countries.

I support women in Africa through Kiva, currently.

Once I finish my MD in neuroscience I intend to follow up and train in ob/gyn as well, so I can spend time yearly in African countries in which women are treated like animals.
