Question:

Feminist bias in YA?

Do you ever wonder whether the very wording of the category "Gender and Women's Studies" is exclusionary and divisive? If women want equality instead of pushing their agenda of male-guilt down our throats, why aren't they pointing out this?

  1. AMEN to Decent Human!!!

  2. There were so many women active in the old Gender Studies category on Yahoo Groups (before Answers) that it eventually all merged into Gender and Women's Studies.

Note that it is 'Gender' first, not 'Women'. This means you can take part too. It was just a name from a merger of two categories.

  3. There's absolutely a pro-modern Feminist bias which helps advance their philosophy (obviously you won't find this written anywhere) but it's purely because Y!A is revenue driven.  Since Feminists and other liberal interests constitute a greater amount of user traffic, their membership in the community and their opinions are given more preference in the interest of preserving them as customers.

  4. (Sigh)  *DRINK*

  5. Drink

  6. Perhaps women are above the stereotypical "gender" category.  If I stop now, I will get female thumbs up......but to finish the thought....or below the stereotypical "gender" category.  Just a bit of musing on my part.

  7. Narcissism.

  8. I see your point.  But it's similar to when white people complain about having to tip toe around black people/culture for example. White people can't use the 'n' word because they've held blacks down for so long but african americans can.  Likewise, guys can't complain about 'women's studies' for similar reasons.  I understand that it is unfair to the newer generations to be held accountable for the horrors that took place before they were even born.  But i feel in some instances, you just have to bite your tongue.

But what exactly would 'Men's studies' entail?  I'm sure most of it would parallel to actual history since women have been mistreated and silenced for so long.  Men's liberation isn't anything new.  Women's liberation, unfortunately, is.

  9. the sexist feminist's will say there is no men's gender studies but there is. There would be more men's gender study programs in more colleges and university's but feminist's sexist misandric ideology and fear of the truth or other competing idea's(and budget).

But femnazi's and there supporters try to cover this fact up so the truth about feminist hate can remain concealed.

    --------

Notice how feminist posters try to justify discrimination and sexism when it benefits them?

        Typical.

    -------

    Let's see Men's studies:

    Paternity fraud,

    Discrimination in the courts,

Discrimination in government(most elected officials may be males but they always vote in favor of feminist initiatives)

    Divorce,

    False accusations of abuse,

    Victims of domestic abuse(male victims)

Feminist's try to cry a river but this is a women's world.

They try to maintain an element of being the victim when in fact they are the oppressors and men are the victims of there oppression.

    ---------------

But as for men's liberation being nothing new you are wrong. For thousands of years we where slaves now our liberation movement has just begun.

  10. Seems to me that its the men here who have made this section a forum for feminism instead of a place for women and men to learn to understand each other better.

  11. Conspiracist

  12. This has been pointed out thousands of times (do a search in the "Search for questions:").  The reason there is a "Women's Studies" is because it applies to academia.  There are no academic classes called "Men's Studies".

  13. PC bro, PC.

You must remember that "inclusive language" only applies when feminists say it should.   That is why a "Chairman" is a "Chairperson" (or whatever) but a "gunman" is still a "gunman"

  14. "Gender Studies" should have been sufficient. Women are, after all, one of the two genders, last I checked.
